Podium Finish for Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki at Regina
Alessi grabs second overall at Moto Valley Raceway
For Immediate Release
June 27, 2017(Kamloops, British Columbia) Round four of the 2017 CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals took place this past weekend at the Moto Valley Raceway, near Regina, Saskatchewan, in the heart of the Canadian Prairies and the Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki team was looking to capitalize on the momentum they gained from a solid race the week before in Calgary.
In MX1, Mike Alessi had his best ride of the season. In moto one, Alessi worked his way through the pack to take his first moto podium of the season, with a third. In moto two, he grabbed the holeshot and led much of the race, eventually finishing second to take a well deserved second overall on the day. He’ll take that confidence and look to keep the momentum rolling as the series heads into a race he’s always done well at in Gopher Dunes.
In MX2, coming off his podium finish in moto two the week before in Calgary, Jacob Hayes, was looking fast and confident as he grabbed the early lead in moto one and looked strong to take his first win of the season but unfortunately a crash left him with an injured ankle and he elected to sit out moto two. He’s going to rest up and try to regroup for Gopher Dunes.
The series now takes one weekend off before resuming on July 9th at the deep sands of Gopher Dunes, in Courtland, Ontario. For more information on the Canadian National Motocross series, visit www.mxnationals.ca
